Co 70 and Rescue/Engine 36 were dispatched at 1521hrs to Rt. 724 and Rt. 10 for a reported accident with entrapment.  Deputy 70 (J. Lutz) went en route and was advise of a dump truck head on into a sedan.  Southern Berks EMS arrived on location to confirm the initial report of a male driver semi-conscious trapped in the sedan; the male driver of the dump truck was uninjured and self extricated. U-70 went en route with a crew of 4 and when they arrived on location went into service stabilizing the vehicle. R/E 67 arrived on location and went into service with their Holmatro rescue tools.  When stabilization was complete, U-70 went into service with its Hurst rescue tool.  Crews removed both driver side door and flapped the roof.  FD personnel assisted EMS with extricating the pt. and was transported to Reading Hospital Trauma Center.  36 personnel were released from the scene and 70 personnel assisted the tow company with removing the vehicles from the roadway.
